‘Twas the night before Christmas, all thru the firehouse,
firefighters were stirring, waiting for fires to dowse.

Their hoses were rolled, packed tightly with care,
along with extrication tools, ladders, axes and air.

The firefighters were anxious in their kitchen table seats,
ready to eat Christmas dinner, prepared by their Chief.

When the bell on the wall rang with a clatter,
the firefighters sprang from their seats, like dinner didn’t matter.

Much like the many meals they had to abandon years prior,
Nothing says Christmas Dinner like a 4-alarm fire.
